Don't worry, the title of this show makes sense, honest guv'nor! It's not what you think. Or maybe it is, we don't know how your mind works! All you need to know is that it IS said and DOES make sense in context. Now that's out of the way, let's now apologise for our Bruce Forsyth gag. Actually no, you can find that one out for yourself. Apart from all those caveats, it's a reasonably measured episode. Paul and Eli dive into a particularly chunky Price of Shite, as donated via our PO Box, and there is a roller-coaster of a Cheap Eats too. We sift through the bric-a-brac to tale tales of Beanie Babies, bubble crisps and whether Eli is now officially losing his mind. The jury is still out. See what you think, in this week's episode!
214 - KRANKIES, DUCKS & GOALS
Football is a sport. It's something Paul & Eli know very little about, but here we are, talking about sport. Kinda. This week is a Silverman's Platter bonanza where we tackle 3 very different types of vinyl oddities. This week, we look into the odd musical career of 1980s comedy double act, The Krankies, we dive into the surprisingly deep history of The Birdie Song and end by exploring the weird popularity of the UK Football team pop single trend. It yields some very interesting facts and fancies. Remember, Paul and Eli know nothing about footy, so we apologise in advance for continuously calling the song Three Lions, Four Lions. It's a packed pod, but you also get a quick dose of noodle news, hear about Eli's new anxiety dream and find out what he thinks an old lady should do with a hot dog. So there's that. Join us!
213 - CARTOON AID
On CheapShow this week, Paul and Eli have a major case of the Do You Remembers? when they chance upon a big, thick book of cartoons. It's a whistle stop tour of British animation, comic book classic, lost gems and forgotten memories. We barely scratch the surface! If you half remember Dogtanian, Frank Sidebottom and whatever Action Gran is, have we got a trip down memory lane for you! Along the way, we also discover which 1980's celebrity likes which classic cartoon character (It's probably all made up though!) Elsewhere in the podcast, we have a bumper edition of The Price of Shite where Eli is gifted with another toy teddy bear. A truly upsetting moment in CheapShow history, as you will quickly find out. Lastly, there is a very good chance Eli's use of a Korean energy drink has fanned the flames of his Egg Special idea. God help us all!
212 - CREATE-A-CRISP
It's a new year and CheapShow keeps on truckin' on with more economy comedy goodness! And what a packed show it is, Guv'nor! This week, we eat some truly weird and wonderful snacks and open up the Crisp and Snack Lab; where we can experiment with some very unusual flavours. Thanks to the PO Box, we get to go full Frankenstein with a bag of "Create-A-Crisp"s and invent 3 new taste sensations! There is also a shocking tongue bashing in the form of Zombie Takis; and that's before we even dive into a bag of truly bizarre Kit Kat snacks. Oh there's also The Bash Street Kids, Hot Sauces, X Factor Top Trumps and a Dead Bat too. Nearly forgot about that stuff. See? It's packed... maybe too packed. We didn't even mention all the new characters. Apologies in advance.
