After the shocking fallout of last week's episode, Paul & Eli are currently in negotiations for the return of Larry Inchman to the show. We hope you can forgive our error of judgement. To apologize, the cheap chaps have decided to offer you two overly long editions of “Eli's Country Urban Noodle Test Lab Kitchen” and “Gannon's Golden Games”. In one, they'll be testing a “Lost The Pot Noodle”; against a “Lucky Me” brand and in the other, they'll be playing a game based on a recent TV show NO ONE remembers! Along the way, we'll discuss the Tarrant/Edmonds rivalry, have a screaming row over the rules of a game and let you figure out just what the hell the title to this episode even means!
205 - THE RISE & FALL OF BILL DOUGHNUT
Just WHO is Bill Doughnut? A man of mystery, of tragedy and of music and in today's episode you are going to be introduced to him. You are very lucky people! Eli, however, flat our hates him and means to have his wicked way. It's a thrilling development. But not really. Elsewhere in the podcast, there is a random Cheap Eats segment where Paul & Eli throw into the ring a collection of inexpensive snacks from China and the Ukraine! It's a literal mixed bag, in terms of items and the cheap chaps' reaction to them. Finally, we have another bespoke Price of Shite that pits Paul & Eli against each other in a fight for who reigns “per-twing”! Along the way, Paul rants about Fairy Tales, Eli rants about guilty pleasures and they both rant about each other!
204 - ANTI-COMEDY
What is comedy exactly? It's not 100% clear if Paul and Eli know what comedy is at all, but this week, they attempt to look at what is often erroneously called "Anti-Comedy" thanks to another delicious vinyl record discovery! The cheap chaps take a deep dive into the world of alternative comedy, the work of Ted Chippington, psychobilly music and curious independent record labels in this week's Silverman's Platter. Paul has something special to show off this week too! Although it's tough to call it a "cheap" purchase (thanks packaging and postal costs), the Gannon's Golden Game segment gets a new addition when Paul reveals his electronic The Price is Right game. It's bloody lovely! Don't worry if you think we are all taking it too seriously this week, there is also Paul's "Grandad Discipline Stick" and Eli's "Knob People" to look forward to!
203 - JIZZY PIGS
If you want to know why this week's edition of the economy comedy podcast is called "Jizzy Pigs" you will (sadly) discover all too soon. Suffice it to say, it's not nice and it involves pigs. Beyond that nightmarish promise, it's business as usual in the House of Pickles! This episode comes complete with an edition of The Price of Shite, and in a nice change of pace, all the items are actually useful. There are also a LOT of "Ptwings"for the taking, but will Eli manage to grab them all? Also, Paul and Eli take a deeper than expected dive into the world of "Irn Bru" the famous Scottish soft drink that has quite the history! Somehow this segment involves a visit to both the Frothshop AND the Soda Jerk Store. Kinda.
