241 - HR GUFF AND STUFF

241 - HR Guff And Stuff
CheapShow

Sometimes it's nice to have a nice and chilled episode of the podcast, isn't it? After the heat induced madness of last week, the Cheap Chaps are in a much more reflective and incisive mood. After a tat packed edition of Price of Shite, the boys also take a look at more strange and wonderful novelty pieces of music. It all sounds absolutely lovely. They reflect on Morecambe & Wise, the joys of Spam, try to figure out what Monopoly Deal is supposed to be and listen to the charming middle-class wit of impressionist Rory Bremner. Eli and Paul also listen to an 80s deep cut track that spoofs self-help gurus and comes backed up with an impressive amount of talent. You see? Lovely stuff, all sourced from charity shops. At no point does Eli kick off and go to the CheapShow HR department to complain about Paul. Even though Paul runs HR. And everything else. It's a nice show. Honest.

240 - THE FISH SHOP SONG

240 - The Fish Shop Song
CheapShow

It's another HOT day in the House of Pickles and, predictably, Paul and Eli aren't coping with it very well. Even after deciding to keep this episode very simple, it soon careens into heat induced nonsense. This week, Paul brings along an intriguing Tales from the Shop that keeps them both guessing until the bitter end. The Cheap Chaps also return, finally, to the “Froth Shop” and find a few changes since their last visit. It's under new management and Eli could not be more disappointed! Finally, it's only fair to warn you that one particular “Froth Shop” item creates an earworm that Paul & Eli milks for everything it's got. It may be their mental breaking point. With Eli melting in the heat and Paul in full on tinker mode, it's another unhinged edition of CheapShow...

239 - BOWERY SOUNDS

239 - Bowery Sounds
CheapShow

It's a time hopping edition of the economy comedy podcast this week as Paul and Eli take a trip back to the 1970s and the 1990s. One ends up being far more troubling than the other... In Paul's Page Turners, Paul brings along a book that is both a fascinating insight into lad culture of the 1990s and a depressing deep dive through a book designed to teach you how to be a bloke. It's all a bit grotty, really, but that's what you get when you buy FHM's Little Book of Bloke. We apologise in advance. In Silverman's Platter's this week, we hop back to 1970's New York City, specifically the area known as the Bowery. Paul & Eli listen to the New York City album that tries to capture the sounds and atmosphere of a colourful and complicated part of the city. If nothing else, it's eye opening! Join us on a cheap trip through time! It's going to be a bumpy ride!

238 - EGGS!

238 - Eggs!
CheapShow

Finally. You asked for it, Eli begged for it and Paul eventually decided to let it happen. This week, we tackle... EGGS! A few months ago, Eli heard that no matter what the cost of the eggs you buy, there is literally no difference in taste. Apparently, a food expert said that, but the Cheap Chaps decide to test that claim for themselves in a vigorous and exciting Off Brand Brand Off egg special. This is what we have become! The thrills don't stop there either! In a curious twist on the usual Price of Shite formula, Paul & Eli go head-to-head once again in a high stakes edition of the popular CheapShow game of games. Who will win? Well, it's a very close one. It's thrills all round, how will you actually cope?

237 - THE RENDLESHAM FOREST DECEPTION!

237 - The Rendlesham Forest Deception!
CheapShow

It's another epic CheapShow adventure, and this week, Paul & Eli are facing the unknown as they investigate the mysterious Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, UK. In December 1980, two American soldiers based at an US Air Base saw a UFO land in the Forest and their story became one of the most fascinating tales of extra-terrestrial contact in history. In 2021, Paul and Eli join Digitiser's Mr Biffo, Sanya and special guests Ryan Livermore (Barshens) and Ashens himself Stuart Ashen in a hunt into the unknown! However, the Cheap Chaps are also out to expose Biffo for the fraud that he is whilst Paul has his own nefarious reason for the trip! What will it be? Has everyone lost their mind? Who is Viv Sparklefish? In fact, who is ANYONE this week? It's a journey you won't want to miss! You should maybe try though, as it may addle your mind!
